Dr. Lessin has taught Sex Education in the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, Leeward Community College and the Professional School for Psychological Studies; he’s taught Tantra at Maui Community College, World Polyamory Association (www.worldpolyamoryassociation.com) & World Tantra Association (www.worldtantraassociation.com) conferences and at the School of Tantra (www.schooloftantra.com) on Maui. He was Director of Counseling at the Waikiki Drug Center and has been a relationship counselor, spiritual journeywork guide and tantra teacher for over forty years.
SASHA (ALEX) LESSIN, PH. D. (U.C.L.A.) a psychotherapist and relationship counselor since the 1970s, knew how to help people work out their differences, compromise, agree. He studied counseling with Drs. Irv Katz and David Quigley (Hypnotherapy), Stan Grof (Holotropic Breathing), Roger Woolger (Jungian Past Life Regression), William Baldwin (Spirit Releasement), Hal and Sidra Stone (Voice Dialogue), Melanie Sears (Non-Violent Compassionate Communication) and Gary Kraftsow (Yoga). Sasha knew how to help lovers resolve their differences, work things out, compromise, create win-win scenarios, even to re-connect emotionally. But he didn’t know how to get them to re-connect sexually.
He also studied sacred loving/tantra–with Lori Grace, Robert Frey, Paul and Niyaso Carter and, especially, Charles and Caroline Muir so he learned to connect and teach others to connect sexually. Charles Muir told Dr. Lessin it was easy to get lovers to re-connect sexually but tantra alone didn’t get them through disagreements. It was hard for them to share tantric sex when they felt emotionally distant.
Sasha introduced tantra into his counseling. Now he starts lovers’ sessions with tantric breathing. Couples resolve their bonding patterns, emotional needs and practical concerns. Finally, they begin a tantric lovemaking ritual. Sasha leaves the room and the lovers consumate their connection. Result: counseling clients work things out and feel close again too. Sasha also accompanyed Charles and Caroline Muir, delivered communications lessons and coached couples in the Muirs’ Tantra seminars around the U.S. and in Mexico. Result: Tantra students were worked out their relationship difficulties.
Sasha is certified as a yoga instructor by Gary Kraftsow, M.A. (Viniyoga), and incorporates the physical training of yoga for opening energy centers (chakras) and moving psychospiritual energies through the body and synergizing these energies with those of lovers.
Janet and Sasha teach, counsel and produce workshops, events and conferences in spiritual evolution, personal growth, consciousness, tantra, alternative & traditional relationships, polyamory, ancient anthropology, Anunnaki and healing arts. The Lessins’s Tantra Certification program is the most comprehensive in the world. The program integrates ancient and modern healing, clearing and consciousness-raising psychothechnologies and spiritual practices. Janet and Sasha founded the first tantra church/temple in America, the Temple of Tantra (aka Tantra Theosophicial and Gaia-Worshiping Society of the Divine Human Family), a 501c(3)(a).
